| Governor Perdue signed House Bill 1133, which created, for the first time in Georgia’s history, a tax credit program allowing students to receive scholarships to attend the private schools of their choice. This bill allows individuals and businesses to redirect their Georgia income tax payments to an approved scholarship organization. |

| The new law provides for the creation of student scholarship organizations (SSO). These organizations are independent 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organizations. The SSO receives money from taxpayers and sends it to participating schools like Shiloh Hills Christian School to fund scholarships. Students who are currently in the public schools or students who are entering the kindergarten or pre-kindergarten programs are eligible for these scholarships. Shiloh Hills Christian School has joined the student scholarship fund, Georgia Christian Schools Scholarship Fund, Inc. (GCSSF), to receive these scholarship funds. Their website is http://www.gcssf.org. |
