Does the Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) give a deadline for making contributions to get the tax credit?
You must postmark Form IT-QEE-TP1 by November 1st to get the approval for your contribution. You do not make your payment with this form.  The DOR will approve your form within 30 days.  When you receive it back from the DOR, you have 30 days to make your contribution.

The amount can be changed to a lower amount.  You cannot increase the amount for which you had been previously approved.

The amount paid in can be rolled over to the next tax year for up to five years.

By participating in this scholarship program, are we opening the door for government intervention in our school? Will we be forced to compromise our mission, standards, or practices?
Shiloh Hills Christian School would never agree to participate in a program that requires us to compromise our mission, standards, or practices.

Will SHCS modify its admission criteria to accommodate students who would qualify for these scholarships?
No.  We will follow the same admission standards currently in place. Exceptions will not be made for applicants who are eligible for GCSSF scholarships.

How does a family with eligible students apply for these scholarships at SHCS?
These families will meet with our admissions officer who will explain the availability of funds from the scholarship program. They will be asked to fill out an enrollment and financial assistance application and provide proof of their child’s enrollment in a public school or eligibility to enter kindergarten. Once accepted, they will then follow the normal enrollment process.

Will a student who receives a GCSSF scholarship automatically receive scholarship funds in subsequent years?
These scholarships are awarded for the duration of a student’s enrollment at SHCS.  The amount of the scholarship given each year, however, is based on the student’s continued financial need, the amount of scholarship funds available from GCSSF for our school, and the student’s compliance with the behavioral, academic, and covenant standards of SHCS.

If enough qualified applications are not accepted at SHCS, what happens to any remaining GCSSF scholarship funds?
Any unused funds designated for SHCS will be held in an account earmarked for SHCS to use for future scholarships.
